*“The Voice” is finally live!
Last night, Team Alicia and Team Blake, went tone for tone for a spot in the Top 12. Audiences voted in real time (EST) for two contestants to doo-wop pop into the finals.
While EUR favors Team Alicia…here is a recap of the playoffs.
Moving on to Top 12: Vanessa Ferguson, Chris Blue, and Stephanie Rice
Eliminated: Anatalia Villaranda, Jack Cassidy, and Ashley Levin
Starting at the piano, Ferguson sang, Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On.”
“I love how you are breaking all the rules. I love how you can show girls and women and people everywhere that you can be yourself. You can have your own swag, your own style. You can wear sneakers and chill and just be who you are. I love that you have no limits,” beamed Alicia.
The Brooklyn native is EURs number one pick.
“The difference between you and the other artists is, you are ready! From the way you move, and the way you present yourself. I’m a fan,” confessed Adam.
Singing in Rihanna’s original key, Blue belted out “Love on the Brain.”
“It’s unbelievable what you do,” Gwen raved. “It’s mesmerizing.”
Singing in RihRih’s key would be a feat for even an award winning male vocalist.
“I just was so impressed hearing your take this song and choosing something you had never sung before and make it completely your own… There is not a soul on this planet that can deny the gift that you are offering here,” declared Alicia.
Stolen from Team Gwen, Stephanie Rice, sang “Every Breath You Take” by The Police.
“Every time you perform, you transport me. You take me to some place that only you know… That’s what an artist does. You are a pure, beautiful artist,” stated Alicia.
Moving on to the Top 12: TSoul, Aliyah Moulden, and Lauren Duski
Eliminated: Casi Joy, Felicia Temple, and Aaliyah Rose
