*We weren’t there, but Monique Sowinski, Senior PR Manager, U.S. Concerts for LiveNation hooked us up with some snaps from Janet Jackson‘s Saturday night STATE OF THE WORLD Tour concert in Houston at the Toyota Center.
Last night/Saturday was the second stop of the tour, following the kick off Sept. 7 in Lafayette, Louisiana.
On Thursday, Janet announced on her Instagram that she would be keeping her Houston date – the first major artist to perform since the devastating Hurricane Harvey.
She also posted a note this week, as she visited shelters in Houston and reflected upon other disasters currently taking place in the world that we “can’t give up hope now… let’s weather the storm together.”
The energy was high from both the audience and Janet as she performed hit after hit including “Rhythm Nation,” “If,” “That’s the Way Love Goes,” “Miss You Much” and so many more.
The crowd went wild as Jackson mixed in dance breaks throughout the show and didn’t miss a beat. Fans got loud as she also performed the newest dance craze the Milly Rock while performing “Nasty” and even mixed in Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” with her own hit “What Have You Done for Me Lately.”
